All Grown Up
Colton Lane

On "All Grown Up," Colton Lane takes a phrase kids throw around casually and lets reality sharpen it line by line. Five years sober, old friends becoming girl dads, a late night Blizzard run, and one George Strait reference that knocks all the air out.

(Verse 1) I'm all grown up now, it seems 5 months is 5 years clean Went from closin down bars to closin Dairy Queens I'm all grown up now, it seems I still play every now & then, I guess But don't make time enough, to write the stuff that's weighing on my chest Went to chasin validation over chasin crazy dreams I'm all grown up now, it seems (Chorus 1) Swear to God I couldn't wait till "can't tell me what to do" Right now I wouldn't mind that peace of mind Yet, the more I yearn for yesterday the more years get put between I'm all grown up now, it seems (Verse 2) Don't see my boys, like I did Hell they all got 4 or 5 kids Went from dodging every girl dad to a nursery full of pink We're all grown up now it seems (Chorus 2) Swear to God we couldn't wait till "can't tell us what to do" Right now I wouldn't mind turning back the time Don't think we were ever innocent maybe a bit naive But I'm all grown up now it seems (Bridge) My last Christmas was my last with mom Said goodbye while the stockings hung Sang Marina Del Rey, as she drifted off to be I'm all grown up now, it seems (Final Chorus / Outro) Swear to God I couldn't wait till "can't tell me what to do" But right now I wouldn't mind your piece of mind I been toughin this thing out, holdin it together by a string Cuz I'm all grown up now, it seems Don't worry abt me mama, there's enough of you in me I'm all grown up now, you see.
The Kid EP
The Kid
Colton Lane

A collection of songs written by a kid who thought he had a whole lot to say. Many were penned by Lane between 17-20 years old, carrying along themes of family lore, addiction, what it was like growing up as Colton, and an early glimpse into the artist he would eventually develop into. It's over the top, loud, and a little dramatic in some instances... just like the 17 year old, who swore he'd be a rockstar, wanted it to be.
